Job Description:

• To operate hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently for digging, loading, trenching, and rock breakers ensuring compliance with safety standards and production targets.
  • Operate excavators to dig, ADTs, trench, move earth and break rock.
  • Conduct pre start and post-operation inspections, checking hydraulic systems, tracks, attachments, and fluid levels.
  • Load Dump trucks efficiently and safely, avoiding spillage, overloading, and equipment damage.
  • Carry out safe excavation and rock breaking work according to project specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and promptly report mechanical issues or hazards.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, site rules, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure the excavator is operated within manufacturer guidelines to prolong machine life.
  • Maintain a clean cab and work area
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions

Qualification/Work Experience:

• • Strong safety awareness and compliance mindset
  • Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability, discipline, and focus during long shifts
  • Qualifications
  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Valid Excavator Operator license.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years experience operating excavators
  • Strong knowledge of machine operation, safety standards, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong awareness of mine safety and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to work long shifts, including nights and weekends or in challenging environments.
  • Knowledge of safe digging practices and equipment load limits.
  • Valid Silicosis Certificate
